About TillerTech

Built for the complexity of real-world data.

TillerTech is a data intelligence consultancy registered in Kenya, working at the intersection of geospatial systems, applied AI, and development data infrastructure.

Our story

Why TillerTech exists

Most organizations working in agriculture, climate, and development have more data than they can use. Field programs generate it. Satellites produce it. Sensors stream it. But the gap between raw data and decisions that funders, regulators, and communities can trust remains wide.

TillerTech was founded to close that gap - not by building dashboards, but by engineering the underlying systems that make data decision-ready. We bring research-grade rigor to production-grade infrastructure, and we've learned to build for the conditions that actually exist in the field: intermittent connectivity, diverse user contexts, and the unforgiving scrutiny of international reporting frameworks.

We are a small, focused team. We take on work where the technical problem is genuinely hard and the stakes are real.

Working with us

How we engage

Advisory & scoping

We help organizations understand what data infrastructure they actually need before writing a line of code. This includes data audits, architecture reviews, and feasibility assessments.

System design & build

We design and engineer production systems - pipelines, platforms, and models - that are built to last beyond the project cycle and documented for handover.

Embedded technical partnership

For longer engagements, we work as an integrated technical partner alongside your program team, providing continuity across funding cycles.

People

Leadership & Structure

TillerTech operates as a senior-led consultancy. Engagements are scoped and directed by our founding principal and delivered through a network of specialist engineers, geospatial analysts, and machine learning practitioners assembled to match each project’s technical requirements. We do not staff projects with generalists.

Marvin Kweyu

Founder & Principal

Marvin Kweyu is the founder and principal of TillerTech. With a background spanning distributed systems research and production engineering, he has designed and deployed data infrastructure supporting field programs across East Africa's agriculture and climate sectors- operating at scale in low-connectivity environments where system reliability is non-negotiable.

He works at the intersection of applied research and operational engineering, ensuring the systems TillerTech builds are grounded in evidence and built to survive the conditions they're actually meant for.

Specialist network - engaged per project

Geospatial Engineering

Satellite pipelines, remote sensing, GIS

Machine Learning

Computer vision, forecasting, NLP systems

Data Architecture

Pipeline design, cloud infrastructure, data modeling

MRV & Climate Systems
